Paul Ockenden - Chairman
Having been involved in the IT industry since the early '80s, Paul can now wear his anorak with pride! However, one of his great skills, according to our clients, is knowing when to take that anorak off - expressing technical ideas to non-technical people in plain English.
Paul was one of the earliest believers that the Internet would change our lives. Back in the 1980s he was one of only a handful of people outside the military and academia with an email address (back in the days when domain names were the other way around, i.e. name@uk.co.companyname!). In 1992 he became one of the founding backers of the UK's first public Internet Service Providers. And in early 1993 Paul wrote his first Web site.
Paul is a rare creature inasmuch as he's a techie who understands marketing. Or maybe he's a marketeer who understands technology. Either way, it's a great combination for someone running a company like CST.
As well as looking after CST projects and clients, Paul is a communicator who writes about Internet and emarketing issues in a number of magazines and newspapers, including a regular monthly "Web Business" column in PC Pro magazine.
You'll find Paul's personal website at www.ockenden.com.
